Active Infrared (AIR) Presence Sensor
Development of an AIR sensor for use in sanitary facilities (to detect the presence of people). The sensor is based on an active infrared light source with emitting optics, custom photodetection with receiver optics and local signal processing.
Our tasks included:
- Modelization of optics, analogue and digital sensor signals
- Calculations/simulations with Zemax and TracePro
- Conceptual design, detail design and verification of sensor in lab
- Calculation of tolerance budget
- Design optimization to maximize performance and minimize costs,
