CFD Analysis of the Flows in a Gas Turbine Inlet Duct

A fogging system is to be retrofitted to a gas turbine to increase the turbine’s output, and will be installed in the existing inlet duct.

The detailed simulation of the flows in the inlet duct allows optimal positioning of the nozzles and avoidance of the need to make subsequent, complex changes to the upgraded system.

The CFD calculation was carried out on the basis of a compressible flow in the inlet duct and the silencer. The k-epsilon turbulence model was used, and the modeling of the muffler was based on a model completed beforehand.
