Power Generation

Helbling Technik has been providing services to the power generation industry for 15 years. One area our activities focus on is the mathematical analysis of gas turbines and gas turbine components. This includes the following tasks in particular:

• Structural-mechanical and thermomechanical analysis of the housing, turbine blades, and rotor
• Creep analysis of these components and their connecting elements
• Low-cycle fatigue analysis
• Coupled resonance analysis of blades

Another key aspect of Helbling Technik’s activities in the power generation industry is its intensive partnership with several Chinese firms in the field of air-cooled capacitors for geothermic power plants in China, which has been built up with the aid of two other companies. Since 2004, we have assisted with around 20 power plant projects in China from conception to operation.

 Together with our two partner companies, we provide the following services:

• Design and conceptual development of the entire capacitor facility
• Engineering of plant sections built from steel and steel-reinforced concrete
• Engineering, expansivity concept, and design of the exhaust steam duct
• Mathematical modeling and proof of the duct
• Engineering of A-frames and pipe bundle with frame
• Assistance with supplier selection in China and elsewhere
• Detailed assembly instructions
• Assembly support where required
• Development of new pipe bundle concepts and thermal optimization of these with the aid of cutting-edge tools and methods
• Complete operation concepts and training of operating staff
