Embedded software engineer for consumer electronics

Field of activity:
You will develop embedded (real-time) software for electronic modules to be used in high-quality consumer goods. Dependent on internal needs, you may also assume the technical lead for development projects within the same domain and/or be responsible for executing a complete embedded software development lifecycle, from prototyping to series (mass-)production. Within an interdisciplinary team, you will work closely with your colleagues to derive technically relevant requirements and develop solutions that fulfil them as part of the final consumer product. Your focus will be to develop software for embedded devices/systems and analyze, monitor and improve the quality, efficiency and stability of the system. You will work closely with electronic hardware developers to ensure optimal software interfacing. Your work with additional stakeholders will ensure tight integration of your SW into the product and will be required to provide support during the complete development cycle including production and post-production when necessary. Additionally, you will contribute to further developing team capabilities within the field of either RTOS or IoT connectivity.

Your Profile:
You possess a degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering (MSc or BSc preferably with CAS) with a specialization in embedded software. You have 3+ years of experience in a similar field, developing and troubleshooting SW on embedded targets in C/C++. You will either have sufficient and demonstrable expertise in the field of RTOS or in the field of IoT. You understand the technical and functional issues associated with developing products for mass-production and can implement product quality software accordingly. You are familiar with software configuration management tools, defect tracking tools, and peer review, ideally having worked with Agile development methodologies including Test Driven Development. You have the talent and ability to efficiently develop and verify reliable software and a general understanding of electronic hardware, allowing you to contribute significantly to electronic system design.

Self-confidence, good communication skills and enjoying being part of a dynamic project team with close customer contact are characteristics that are central to this position. Critical thinking and problem-solving comes to you naturally. While candidates are expected to be able to communicate in German, English skills are a prerequisite and French would be advantageous.
